For the Better

Happy Tuesday Everyone,

Over this last year, it has become very evident to most folks who the important people are in our lives.  The important people have become evident because they have been the people that have been closest to us during the pandemic.  They have been our rocks (think parents, siblings, children, and other immediate family members).   Also, folks at school who we have been lucky enough to connect with since last September have become part of our close circles.

Because of imposed distance, our eyes have also been opened to those who are most important to us that we haven't been able to physically connect with.  We've had the chance to understand the value that these folks add to our lives and how they change us for the better.  For myself, because I haven't been able to see some folks for an extended period of time, I have been able to reflect on just how much they mean to me.  I so look forward to reconnecting with them, soon!

It is with this thought about the people that matter to us in life - those both near and far - that I stumbled across this song from Wicked, the Broadway Musical.

You've probably heard the saying before...in fact, I've probably mentioned it in a blog post or two...about how people come and go from our lives and leave indelible footprints on our hearts.  This song gives that same beautiful message.  "Because I knew you, I have been changed for the good."  I love this - thinking about how we are all interconnected.   About how our goodness impacts others and how the goodness of others impacts us.

The ups and downs of daily life can be trying at times, but if your simple daily mindset is to make sure that you have a positive impact on those you meet each day, then you will be a success in my book!  For those that we are closest to and for those that we love but who are physically far, I hope you'll let them know in words and deeds how they change you for good, and I hope you'll change them for the good as well.

Have a great day everyone!

Be well,

Mrs. Hempey
