When the Spirit Moves You

Happy Thursday Everyone,

I often see this song popup in my different social media feeds and I have thought about posting it a number of times, as I think it's a beautiful song.  I chose to post it today not just because it's a very peaceful song, but also because every time I watch it I am amazed at how resilient we have become as a society that something like this can come together so beautifully.

Think of all that needed to happen to make this video a reality...admittedly I know very little about the music industry and am no expert, so I am sure I don't know half of it.  I think about the kids all having to learn their parts, then practice their parts, and then film their parts.  They had to look presentable, and have no major technical difficulties or obvious mistakes in their performances.  The conductor had to conduct hundreds of kids without being in the same physical space as them, then he and others had to edit and create the final effect.  When you think about how much work it must have taken, it makes me wonder why?

Why do we do things like this?  Is it because of our own passion or is it because we know it will bring others joy?  Is it for fame and glory or is it about learning and experiencing?  Does it fill a need or need to be done?  I am sure that the answers to these questions are a little bit of all those pieces.  And thank goodness they are, because the end result is inspiring, and creates hope and happiness.  It offers people like me an opportunity to share possibility, joy, hope, and simple, feel-good moments with people like you!

I hope you all have a great Thursday!

Be well,

Mrs. Hempey
