Bits and Pieces

Happy Thursday Everyone!

I have all kinds of tidbits for you today...

When I read this, it reminds me of how important positive self-talk is.  Think about how you talk to your best friends.  Now think about how you talk to yourself.  Do they match, or are you always more negative in your self-talk than you are when you talk to your friends?  If you don't say, "You're never going to be good at anything," to your friends, don't say it to yourself.  If you don't say, "I hate how you look," to your friends, don't say it to yourself.  If you don't say, "you are so stupid," to your friends, don't say it to yourself!  You feel me?!?  You need to be your own best friend.  Treat yourself with kindness and compassion so that you will have the power, energy, and positive attitude to approach each day on the right foot with hope and the power to be successful!

Instead of reacting negatively towards yourself or others when bad things happen, practice taking a deep breath. Think about what will be helpful to move you forward, instead of keeping you stuck in negativity or anxiety.  You always have a choice about how to respond to events that unfold in your day.  You always have a choice about how to respond to others who bring negative energy.  Choose kindness, choose calm.  Go high when they go low.   Choose to keep your power rather than giving it away to others or hopping on the anxiety train.

Here are some things you can say to yourself when negativity starts to make you feel anxious.

If you see someone else struggling with negativity or having a bad day, and you have a little positivity to share, go ahead, use those superpowers to help.  Here is an example of how...

And if all else fails, just go hug an animal!

Have a great Thursday, everyone!

Be Well,
Mrs. Hempey
