Who Will You Be?

Happy Thursday People!

Who will you be?  It's a pretty deep question...except when you are just trying to come up with a cool Halloween costume!

I thought that this was a clever way to figure out who you might be if you are struggling to come up with an idea for this Saturday's costume extravaganza!  (Although I implore you to keep your extravaganza's safe and small to keep us all healthy in the coming weeks).  Take a look...

Now that I've mentioned it though, if you really are pondering who you will be, good for you!  It's always good to think about the kind of people we want to be.  But it's important not to let it become a stress point too.  You all have a lot of living to do, and there will be so many twists and turns to navigate, choices to be made, decisions to ponder, and fun times to experience.  It's okay to not know, especially given that you are still young, where the path will end.

When I think about the question, "who will you be," I like to frame it in a couple of different ways...who will I be today, (not tomorrow, next week, or next year), and how will I be?  When I think about it this way, it reminds me to stay in the present, and focus on the kind of person I want to be.  It takes the worry away and removes the, "oh my gosh, what am I going to do with my life?" thought.  It allows me to just think about the qualities I want to nurture in myself.  Kindness, compassion, adventurous spirit, helpful to others, etc.  I know that if I focus on living my life - each day, each moment, with these qualities in mind - I'll end up in the right place.

Along with focusing on the kind of person you want to be, it's also important to participate in activities that bring you joy and spend time with people that encourage you to be your best self.  If you do these things and concentrate on the kind of person you want to be, your path will become abundantly clear as you move forward in life.

And on the Halloween front, I hope to see some fun costumes tomorrow!  I'll have mine on!

Have a Boo-tiful day!
