Do you ever wonder how ideas are born?
Happy Tuesday, y'all!
You do know I start most days with a reminder of what day it is right...lest we all forget!! 😆😆
Just for fun, I thought I'd post a little Dude Perfect. We watch these trick shot clips in AG every once in a while. If you are a staff member reading this blog, and you've never seen dude perfect, you're welcome! 😁 These guys are crazy funny, sure to brighten any day, and pretty entertaining when you don't have too much else to do.
As I was reviewing these clips, I was wondering how the heck these guys got started doing what they are doing? They spend all day thinking up and performing crazy games and cool trick shots. These days they have a whole gym/warehouse to practice and play in, and they've created their own brand that they are living off of comfortably. Of course, it didn't start that way, right? I was curious, so I googled it...turns out they were five college roommates from Texas (that's why I opened this post with y'all) who spent time hanging out in their back yard playing hoops.
Do you think that maybe they were experiencing a moment of boredom and one of them was sitting around and said something like this(using my imagination here): "Hey guys, betcha I can make this shot." And the other guys were like, "no way!" and the first guy was like, "I totally can - watch!" and now here they are making millions of dollars entertaining us all during a global pandemic.
No one is expecting any of you to go out there and invent yourselves during this time thinking up an idea that's going to make you millions, ('cause you know this is a pretty stressful situation being cooped up at home for weeks on end) but there is that really old saying...you know, the one credited to Plato, the ancient philosopher? He said, "necessity is the mother of invention, meaning a need or problem encourages creative efforts to meet that need or solve the problem." (Dictionary.com) So I guess we'll have to wait a few years or 10 to see if any creative efforts start here.
What's keeping you busy these days? If you want to share a picture or a short video clip with me via email, I'll post in in an upcoming blog!
Stay cool, cats!
