Can't Stop the Feelin'
Happy Monday Everyone!
After a stormy and rainy day yesterday, and more of the same expected today, I wanted to give you a quick reminder to move your body even if you are stuck inside! Here is a little bit of inspiration...
I am NOT a dancer, but this one even makes me want to get up and move! You can find all kinds of good exercise inspiration out there, so don't be afraid to mix it up and get your heart rate up today. You'll feel better both physically and emotionally if you do!
Here are some other suggestions for staying physically active throughout the pandemic.
-Get up to the higher elevations and take advantage of the remaining snowpack. Get a few turns, or bring along a sled and take a few quick runs.
-Download the Strava app (or other fitness tracking app), and track your run, walk, or bike. Compare with friends or family via online sharing, or just make something beautiful.
-Take this opportunity of isolation to really work on your juggling, jumpshot, penalty-kicks, stick-handling, strength & Conditioning, or hitting form. There are plenty of YouTube coaches out there to give you tips on perfecting mechanics or to give you suggestions on the proper form you need to really excel.
-Put that home gym, to good use. It can be used for something more than just storage! ;0)
-Help your parents with yard work - get those gardens ready, rake up those fall leaves you never got around to last October, cut and stack wood, or clear brush.
-Bring a garbage bag or two and get out into your neighborhood to pick up trash (make sure you let your parents know where you'll be, or better yet, take them along. Be cautious along roadsides, please!)
-Got Property? Make a mountain biking trail - check-in with your parents first and make sure you have permission and supervision to clear your proposed route.
-Speaking of bikes, get yours out, and start getting it ready to ride. Make sure to wear your helmet!
-Find a fitness class or yoga instructor online and get your zen on right in your own living room.
What other ways are you moving your body? Feel free to leave a comment with your suggestions for staying physically and mentally well.
Have a great day everyone!
