The Unique Day

Good Morning Cougars!

Yesterday in the "exit ticket" I sent all of you one, of the questions I asked was, "what are you grateful for?"

It's an important question in uncertain times because when things feel out of our control, it can feel like there is not a lot to be grateful for.  Being able to change your mindset, focus on what you can control, and cultivate gratitude can help you stay mentally well.  I would encourage you to watch this short film called Gratitude by Louie Schwartzberg.  It is a beautiful and simple reminder of all that we have to be grateful for.

Spend some time being mindful of this unique day - though you might not meet lots of people face to face today- there are people around you.  Your family and those people you can connect to virtually.  Spend some time with them today.  Talk to them, listen to them, and learn about their stories.

I would also encourage you to get outside in nature - yes, I know it's going to rain, but it's going to be warm, so put on a raincoat and take a walk.   Be present in this moment you are given.  Open your heart to the grace around you, be grateful for the incredible gifts you are given, and enjoy this unique day!

I am thinking of you all!

Be well,

Mrs. Hempey
