Way Back Play Back, Valentines Day Edition
Happy Friday Everyone!
Sunday is Valentine's day, so I thought I'd give you a little setlist of a few songs that were popular when I was your age...
How about Simple Minds, "Don't You (Forget About Me)"
Or maybe you prefer a little Patti LaBelle and Michael McDonald? Here is, "On My Own."
The hair was so big!!
And here is a personal fav...Pat Benatar's "We Belong"
The waterfall...and the choir - my word...you can't make this stuff up! So fun!
I loved Richard Marx! He's up next with, "Right Here Waiting."
This video dates itself right from the start with the pay-phone call!
Here's the song that started this little trip down (the '80s) memory lane. I heard it last night as I was going to sleep...
Cindy Lauper's record was one of the first three records I owned...the others were Michael Jackson's, "Thriller" (more suited to Halloween) and the Footloose soundtrack. Have a listen to this feel good Footloose theme song from Kenny Loggins.
This last one wasn't so much a love song, but Kevin Bacon was pretty smooth, so it makes for a fun 80's wrap-up. (I love all the expressions of personality in all the different feet!)
Transitioning from '80s music, let's throw it way back to the late 1800s to learn about the impact of George Washington Carver, in today's Black History Month Spotlight. He was an early sustainability teacher! Check out this brief cartoon explaining his work. 150 years ago, he was a the forefront of caring for our planet and its people! Thanks, George!
I hope you all have a great Valentine's day weekend!
Keep those signs of affection distant!
Be Well,
Mrs. Hempey
