All We Need...

Wednesday...it's Wednesday, everybody! 

Last night my husband and I watched one of our favorite musicians, Jack Johnson, perform live from his home in Hawaii in an effort to support the World Health Organization, which works worldwide to promote health, keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable, and Global Citizen, a foundation committed to ending extreme poverty by 2030.  Global Citizen's, One World Together at Home series has put together 70+ Artists in a digital TV special.  If you haven't checked out any of these performances, you really should.  It's like having amazing musicians show up right in your living room to perform just for you! 

Naturally, this morning my thoughts are on Johnson's soulful music, whose beautiful lyrics and mellow sound are something I could listen to all day.  (His song, Better Together, was our wedding song, in fact!)  I knew that one of his songs or a couple of them could inspire us today!  I spent the first part of my day listening to some snippets of his music on YouTube and came up with this beautiful song that I hadn't heard before... 


I felt like it was a beautiful reminder of the only thing we really need...a little bit of love.  If we have love, everything else flows from there. 

Another of my favorite Jack songs is Home, in which he sings that "home...It's wherever we are if there is love here too..."

Lived Experience

Good Morning Everyone, Today I'd like to continue addressing social justice and antiracism from my blog. What is antiracism you ask? Well, let me explain what I have come to understand.  Antiracism is when we actively take a stance against racial injustice.  It is fighting for equality.  It is going beyond just thoughts and feelings and taking action.  That action can come in many forms.  It can be in the form of educating your self or others, peaceful protest, monetary support for organizations like Black Lives Matter or the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), or it can be about simply lending your voice to someone in need.   Some people would argue that topics such as these are wading into the water of politics and taking sides and that we shouldn't be talking about them in school or with young kids.  My response is that I don't care what political side people are on.  This is a human rights issue!  It's...
