I Wish You More

What better way to celebrate a whole day in our PJ's than to have story time right along with it.  I've gone outside of my comfort zone here and have created a video of me reading the picture book, I Wish You More by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld.  Please enjoy!

(I tried adding captions to my video, alas, I am not that tech-savvy, however, I did have luck opening a google slide and using the caption mode to provide a written transcript of my video)

Considering the times, I felt like this simple story conveys my wishes for you all today and always.

As you heard, the ending of the story says, "I wish all of this for you, because you are everything I could wish for...and more."  You might think that this type of line should be reserved for a parent or a grandparent, reading to their child or grandchild, but know that I (and all the other adults in the CBMS community) consider all of you our kids!  Sometimes when I am talking to family and friends, and I talk about my kids, I have to distinguish between my school kids and my biological kids!

So today at the start of week two at home, I wish you more...
beauty than beasts
comfort than couch
creativity than time
patience than line
"peace" than pie!
and
how about more giggles than...pictures!

1,000 Paper Cuts

Good Morning Everyone, We've made it to the end of another week, and we are ready to usher in spring tomorrow!  This is good news for all those folks ready to open the windows, get outside, and sweep out the cobwebs!  As we touched on yesterday, however, sometimes with the good comes the bad, and the bad I am referring to was an abhorrent national news story yesterday about an act of violence against Asian-American people in an American community.   I won't go into the details here, but I will say that it is a disturbing trend of violence and hate speech against Asian-Americans around the United States.  Many would attribute this rise in violence to the negative stereotypes perpetuated by some of our leaders during this past year managing the COVID-19 crisis. Another Trip Around the Sun

  Happy Thursday Folks!   Yes, today is my birthday.  Just another day, really, but a good day to be grateful for another trip around the sun.  I just started hearing people use this expression in the last couple of years, but I really like it.  It's a little reminder that... 1.  We shouldn't take anything for granted, because nothing is guaranteed. 2.  We have a new opportunity each day, when we open our eyes, to make it great!   3.  We have 365 opportunities each year to be amazing!   Since my purpose of this blog is to share pearls of wisdom with you, I think I'll try to come up with 44...one for each of my trips around our big ball of light.   Here goes, in no particular order: 1.  Don't spit your gum out on the sidewalk.  Help keep someone else's good day from becoming sticky! 2.  Make little fists with your toes on the carpet when you wake-up each morning...go ahead, try it...so relaxing! 3....
